HANLEY, James.
Stoker Bush. London: Chatto & Windus, 1935. Centaur Library edition, first edition sheets. Fine in a near fine, price clipped dustwrapper. This copy has an oval label affixed to the spine reading ?No. 86 The Centaur Library, 3s,6d Net.? This is clearly the issue referred to in Gibbs A15c, which he dates ?1937? but also states he was unable to examine a copy and therefore explains the fact that he did not note that it was the first edition sheets and binding, with the only indication, the printed label on the d/w. It would appear that both this and the subsequent entry for the ?Armed Services Edition? were both done from the 2500 copies of the sheets of the first edition. Our copy has a price of ?2/6? in pencil on the front pastedown.
