"This valuable work, with public documents. Contains observations made during a journey of eleven years mission to Ashantee, West Africa and four voyages to the Gold Coast, and also contains a small vocabulary of the Fantee language." (24.3cm x 16cm), orig. blue cloth spine, mustard paper boards, (4), (1)-35, (1)pp. With a sepia-coloured engraving by W. Carron on the title-page. Two marks on the rear board, corners slightly bumped, some faint soiling to the boards but this still a better than very good copy, lacking the glassine d/w and the slipcase.

Inscribed by Zeitlin to Richard Marshall of the bookselling firm Bennett & Marchall. 12mo., orig. wrappers, 7, [1] p. A fine copy of this Huxley rarity. In a slipcase (which has a piece of red morocco pasted over the original blue morocco spine. The inner flap of the slipcase has the bookplate of journalist and newspaper publisher, 'James Strohn Copley'. Los Angeles bookseller, Michael Thompson, described this as 'a notorious rarity' adding that 'many were stolen on opening-night.'
