Mark Lemon [1809-1870] novelist, playwright and editor. Lemon began his prolific career as a playwright, eventually writing some 60 plays, many of which were successfully produced. Lemon served as the editor of several prominent magazines, but is best remembered as editor of "Punch." In 1862 and 1863 he delivered a series of lectures that were later published as the above.
