Uncommon in original cloth. This work describes Hind's 1861 expedition, which 'covered the Moisie River basin, for the most part south of the 52?N parallel.' Hind looks at the history and geography of Labrador and northern Quebec, paying particular attention to the indigenous populations including the Montagnais, 'Esquimaux', Cree, Iroquois, and Nasquapee. Hind's younger brother, William G. R. Hind (1833-1839), accompanied him on the expedition, painting the watercolours from which the striking chromolithographs were produced. $4000 CAD
